Leadpages.net was one of the best tools that I’ve used for my online business for a very long time. I made hundreds of landing pages with it in these years and made lots of money with it too, but as my business grew, lack of some important features in leadpages.net made my experience very frustrating. Note that I still use leadpages.net for popup forms but not landing pages anymore… In this article I’ll point out 3 reasons that made me stop using this service for major parts of my online business. Note that if you’re new to internet marketing, I still suggest leadpages.net for your landing page needs!
Biggest problem: you can’t customize pages fully
I’ve always hated leadpages.net for this. Imagine you don’t like position of a button on your page and you want to move it to the left a little, guess what? You can’t do that. leadpages.net landing pages are hard-coded, meaning you can just customize colors texts or hide elements (duh) but no fully customized pages. If you use your imagination a lot in process of building a landing page, leadpages.net can’t be a good option for you!
Bad SEO and dirty code
Leadpages.net pages have the worst on page coding you can imagine. This is a major SEO issue, but for many people, who are sending traffic to their landing pages, SEO is not a problem and I agree with that, but dirty code is a problem. Leadpages.net on page code is very poorly written and that makes it slower when loading. Take a look at these 2 images. Picture on the Left is code on a leadpages.net landing page and right is code from instapage.com landing page:
Last problem with leadpages.net is their analytics system. You can’t rely on lead page’s analytics and stats. although conversion rate can be right most of the time, it never shows up right amount of visitors or page views, so if that’s something important for your business, you should track it manually using a third-party software.
